Capri

Cute little flower girl

One thing that happened Saturday that I forgot to mention that I don't want to forget was when we semi-attended an Italian wedding. We were sitting around in this tiny sqaure in Positano by a church when a wedding party started to gather. We didn't want to be rude and be in the way so we stayed off to the side (we also didn't want to leave because we got so involved we wanted to see the bride's dress) but some tourists got right in the middle of it and even went into the church, which we thought was pretty rude. When the bride arrived she didn't even seem to notice all these strangers gathered around and she looked glowing and so happy, and everyone cheered and clapped as she walked up from the street. Later in the day when we were walking back the wedding must have ended because the bride was getting some pictures taken on the stairs we needed to walk up so we just waited at the bottom to the side but the camera man and videographer was like no, no go up it's no problem and even turned on his camera and took a video of us as if it was normal...maybe it was just for his personal use haha. We were not sure if this was just culturally normal or if they just accept it if they get married in a public place.

Yesterday, Krysta and I needed to get back to Ischia for family dinner but wanted to avoid the SITA bus as much as possible. The best ferry option was to Capri and then from Capri to Ischia. I personally wasn't planning to see Capri this trip because I have been there before when I was around 14, but Krysta wanted to see it so I didn't mind going again...it's definitely better than the bus.
Instead of taking the bus from Nocelle to Positano in the morning to catch the ferry, we took the 2000 steps down again. Our calves are definitely sore walking to school today.
The walk into town
I took this picture for my mom who loves little blue beetles
On the ferry
I love boat pictures as you can see

Capri is absolutely gorgeous but I have to admit, after being spoiled on Ischia I find it a lot more beautiful and a nicer place to visit because it is not as touristy and there are way more things to do. If you had to choose between the two I would say see Ischia over Capri. The only thing extra to see on Capri is the blue grotto, which I haven't done but if I ever went to Capri again I would like to do it because I hear it is stunning. For me there really isn't much to do on Capri because everything is extremely expensive and as a student I'm too poor to even walk into the stores they have there, such as Roberto Cavalli.
The two things I do love about Capri are Carthusia, which is a perfumeria that makes the local Capri perfume. I bought the lemon fragrance perfume when I visited when I was 14 and I love it.
This is the story of how the perfume came about.
The other thing I love on this island are the lemon juices, slushies and limoncello slushies.
I think Italian men like me a lot more than Canadian men because I have never gotten a free drink in my entire life in Canada, but yesterday I got three free drinks! Krysta and I were happy because he liked my eyes so much he didn't want me to leave because he said it energized him as he worked and we really wanted to sit somewhere for a long time since our legs were tired and most other places you had to pay or order a full meal to sit.
This is the beach I did my homework on, I can really get used to this view while doing homework...these boys were wrestling in the water in their boxer briefs (some were even white! ;) ) so I might not get the best mark on my first essay haha

We headed home and got there in time for family dinner. We had a great weekend but were actually really excited to get back home and be with the entire family. We are getting quite used to this meal family time every night.
Tonight we had a Risotto ball for an appetizer (I obviously don't know the actual name of it haha) and then Lorenzo made us Margherita pizza. I have never ordered a Marghertia pizza because I usually like a bunch of other toppings as well on my pizza but this was actually the most amazing pizza I have ever tasted in my life. The buffalo mozzarella tasted like it was smoked or something and the sauce was so good.
For dessert we had panna cotta
