Old Town Dubrovnik

Yesterday, Dad and I decided to walk the walls of the fort. We had looked at it the night before and saw it was $20 dollars each so decided not to, but later that night as we read our tour books they were all saying its a must while you are here. We woke up bright and early and was on the wall by 9 before it was super busy with cruise ships and tour groups.
The views were amazing and they said the $20 for the ticket goes into restoring the walls so it made us feel good about doing it.
We then stopped for drinks
Freshly squeezed orange juice
Bitter lemon
Drinking Fountain

One thing that was really cool for me to see was the old pharmacy by this fountain, near the museum. It is the third-oldest functioning pharmacy in Europe. It has been in business since 1391 and they think it may have been the first pharmacy in Europe to open to the general public.
No pictures allowed of course.
Time for a swim at the hotel ocean, it's getting hot! We've had the most amazing weather, 28-34 degrees celsius this entire trip. Here's when I get washed away by the ocean. The ocean has been perfectly calm (waterskiing calm I like to call it) this entire trip, but there have been some wild waves these past two days.
After we had some drinks and a nap by the ocean it was time to explore some more. We walked in some churches, looked around the town some more then headed to the gondola for a view of the city from the hills.
We didn't really plan it well because we just went without paying attention to weather and when we got to the top it was kind of misty/cloudy but it was still really cool to see, it just didn't photograph well.
I finally find my wild lavender plant!
Then we had to wait in a large line for the gondola down due to a tour group, which caused some conflict.....I hid out with some Australian ladies.

Then we headed to dinner. We decided on Taj Mahal, a Bosnian restaurant, that was highly recommended. When we arrived it was packed! It was actually really sad to see because the two restaurants beside it had absolutely no one and this restaurant had all the tables full plus many waiting for tables. We had to make a reservation/wait for 45 minutes so we walked around town and then sat by the fountain again. We watched the parrots that attacked my head yesterday. The little green rascal I had was on his best behaviour, sitting on all the tourists arms like a good little birdy. Obviously my frizzy, hay-like hair was more exciting for him to climb to and nest in.
In no time, it was dinner time.
Dad ordered this Ćevapi-a traditionally grilled dish of minced meat. I tasted it and it was really good.
This was my Speckled Skewer Leon-rolled turkey with spinach and mushrooms. I really liked it but actually preferred dad's, but he preferred mine. Mine also came with a baked potato that had cheese on it, I think they said it was cottage cheese but it tasted almost like a mix between quark and ricotta.
This was the BEST part. The baklava. I've eaten Baklava before but this was by far the best one I've ever tasted. It only had a tiny layer of the puff pastry on each side of it with the majority of the dessert being the walnut paste. It was also not overly sweet as most of the ones I have tasted.
Dad's coffee, which he said tasted like the Turkish coffee he's had in the past.
Dad's baked apple dessert.

We made reservations again for today and I'm actually heading there soon :). We decided to book in advance because as we were eating dinner we heard him having to take reservations for the next day because they were too busy that night.
